Position Overview:
Spie Tool Company is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented CNC Tool and Cutter Grinding Specialist to join our Finish Grinding Department. In this role, you’ll produce precision tools using CNC grinding equipment, ensuring parts meet critical aerospace tolerances and quality standards. This is a hands-on, entry-level opportunity offering full training for candidates looking to build a rewarding long-term career in advanced manufacturing.




Key Responsibilities:
• Operate CNC tool and cutter grinders to produce precision parts
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, comparators, etc.)
• Maintain critical tolerances by making approved machine adjustments as needed
• Follow inspection protocols and accurately document inspections throughout the production day
• Maintain the condition and dressing of grinding wheels
• Assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of machines and support equipment
• Keep workspaces clean, organized, and compliant with protocols




Qualifications:
• No prior CNC grinding experience required — full training provided
• Ability to use or willingness to learn micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining tight tolerances
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic mechanical aptitude; prior manufacturing experience a plus
• Basic computer skills preferred (for inspection logging and machine interface)




Compensation and Growth Path:
Starting pay ranges from $20–$23 per hour, depending on skills, aptitude, and training performance.
As additional competencies are developed — including independent setup, CNC programming, advanced troubleshooting, and cross-training on aerospace-level inspection — employees may advance to higher pay grades, with exceptional operators earning up to $33 per hour.
